Fox2 News — Lawmakers in Washington are locked in a high stakes battle over how to deliver on president trump’s legislative priorities
Lawmakers in Washington are locked in a high stakes battle over how to deliver on President Trump’s legislative priorities. That includes combining more than $5 trillion in tax breaks with at least $1.5 trillion in cuts to medicaid, food stamps and clean energy programs. Fox2’s Hillary Golston explains.
The general narrative right now is one of terror. “It’s a death sentence to cut medicaid.” Those were the words written by Taylor Johnson, a mom out of Warren whose six year old adopted son has down syndrome. It was read aloud on Capitol Hill in the hopes that lawmakers would really listen.
“We adopted him at three weeks old. Losing medicaid would cripple our family, Absolutely destroy us.”
