Mainers grapple with impact of President Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ on SNAP benefits

BUCKFIELD, Maine — President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed last week, and now many families are concerned about how the spending plan will impact their lives and their ability to afford food.

The bill makes massive cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is managed by the USDA.
