“There is a path forward,” Rounds weighs in on Senate healthcare negotiations

Lawmakers in South Dakota are currently negotiating a path forward for healthcare following last years government shutdown over the issue. One option on the table is a 3-year extension of enhanced Affordable care act subsidies which passed the house earlier this month.
The center for American Progress is cheering on that proposal: “A clean three extension honestly is the easiest way to hold, you know, the millions of Americans who rely on marketplace coverage, essentially harmless for the premium increases,” said Murphy. Senators have been meeting and discussing proposals around the subsidies that both parties can get behind to secure a healthcare deal.
